(Unpublished Second Edition with Several New Chapters Added)
The incomplete, and probably inaccurate, history of the timber industry in parts of Central and Eastern Oregon from 1867 to near the present. by Martin Morisette [Copyright © 2005] |

| A note about footnotes: Generally I find footnotes distracting—but not nearly as distracting as endnotes—and since I want to be taken seriously, I’ve used them in Green Gold but unless you are REALLY interested in details simply skip them. Without reading them the stories will still make sense; it's up to you. A note about "navigation": Each chapter will open in the same window as this Table of Contents. To return to the TOC, use your browser's 'back' button. |

| The Following Chapters were not included in the original publication of GREEN GOLD and some of the material that follows has not been finalized but rather than keep it filed away awaiting completion (which may never happen) it is posted "in the rough" for whatever value it may have for enlightening the reader about the area's timber history. | ||
| The following "chapters" appear in alphabetical order--for no particular reason--and some of them were for the old GREEN GOLD web site. Others, as you will see, were formatted as part of the book but were not included therein because of space limitations. Every page appearing in a book costs extra money and the author footed the bill for every page. Books were sold for the exact cost of printing, insuring that the author made no money on this book. That was intentional, so don't feel sorry for him (at least the government didn't get anything either!). | ||
