On May 30, 2005, the Seneca School Foundation announced the selection of the winner of the Seneca Logger Memorial Scholarship, Suzette Banick of John Day. Alec, daughter of Gerald Banick of Condon, Oregon, was presented with a certificate for the $500- scholarship during the 8th Grade graduation exercise held at the Seneca School on June 7.Making this year's presentation of the scholarship was Sam Seebart, a 1959 graduate of the school, who was also the guest speaker for this year's graduation ceremony.
The 2005 TSL scholarship was made possible because of the generous contributions of former Seneca Kids and residents, namely, Grace and Raymond Dellet, Alvin Stockwell, Fred and Patricia Pynes, Phil Pynes, Dody Barott, Bob and Donna Johnston, Jack and Denice Seebart, the late Velma Semmes, and the Kenneth McGhee family.The Seneca School Foundation congratulates Suzette for her outstanding achievements at the Seneca School and for earning this scholarship. It also wishes her all the best during her four years at Grant Union High School and her college endeavors thereafter.
