Back to the School Today-----------------------Back to the Seneca SchoolBack to Treasure Trove |
THE SENECA SCHOOL HISTORY PROJECTThe Seneca School History Project is a student-focused, school-wide program that began a couple of years ago and continues and progresses by phase each new school year. Up until recently, It was best described and presented on the "oregongreengold.com" website managed by Martin Morrisette, a staunch supporter of the school and the Seneca Kids. Unfortunately, Martin no longer maintains that website, but has given us permission to include it in our site.Once there, you'll find a large list of menu options. We recommend you first click on the menu item "The Project Begins", highlighted in yellow, on the lower left hand side of the page. After that, you can check out the entire list of topics surrounding the project and what the students have accomplished.Once you've finished your project orientation, you'll want to take the time to look at the rest of Martin's website. He has done a fantastic job of putting together historical information about various logging communities and operations throughout Eastern and Central Oregon. The book he has written on this subject can be accessed in its entirety by clicking the "GreenGold" link at the bottom of his homepage. There is an excellent section on Edward Hines and the early days of Seneca with a number photos from that time. You can jump to Martin's Home Page by clicking here.
